Tasting Note: Bodegas Mauro 1996 Vendimia Seleccionada

1. Introduction:
Mariano Garcia, former cellar master of Vega Sicilia, is responsible for this wine made of 97% Tempranillo and 3% Garnacha from a selection of vines from the very best vineyard parcels of Mauro. The area around Tudela de Duero and Santibáñez de Valcorba, where the vines grow on light limestone or clay-calcareous soils, enjoys a continental climate with an Atlantic influence and significant temperature changes between night and day and provides, by that, perfect growing conditions- especially for Tempranillo.
Founded in 1978, Bodegas Mauro produces modern-styled, distinct wines which don´t ignore the tradition of the region.
Our 1996 Vendimia Seleccionada comes from a very cool cellar and is in perfect condition. 14% alc.
